Leadership and Management Skills Practice Series for the Aged Care Team

This training series is designed to meet the specific needs of the multidisciplinary aged care team.  It consists of five (5) modules, with each module being a full day workshop with theoretical input as well as practical skills development.
Note: each module is worth 6 CPD hours.

Participants are expected to be fully involved in a highly interactive learning environment.
Post-session activities are allocated to participants at the end of each workshop.

Participants are expected to apply what they learn to the work environment immediately post session and to monitor success and improvement of their leadership and management practices.

Due to the interactive nature of these workshops, it is recommended that participant numbers do not exceed 30 in each workshop. Ideally it is recommended that each module be conducted at 4 to 6 week intervals.

Module one (Day 1)

“Taking positive steps in becoming the powerful leader”

The aim of this workshop is for participants to:
–      increase confidence in using the 5 practices of exemplary leadership
–      practice self-leadership and reclaiming power in the changing environment

Module two (Day 2)

“Inspiring and motivating a high performance team”

The aim of this workshop is for the participants to:
–      highlight key drivers of a high performance team
–      use the talents of the team to be part of the solution
–      communicate with and get the best out of different personalities
–      acknowledge and celebrate individual and team achievements

Module three (Day 3)

“The Emotionally Intelligent Leader at work”

The aim of this workshop is for the participants to:
–      develop knowledge and skills in the practice of Emotional Intelligence
–      measure personal level of Emotional Intelligence
–      practice skills in managing emotions when things get tough

Module Four (Day 4)

“Getting the best outcome in managing conflict and
unacceptable workplace behaviour”

The aim of this workshop is for the participants to:
–      identify unacceptable and challenging workplace behaviour
–      adopt positive actions towards negative attitudes
–      giving positive and constructive feedback
–      develop assertive dialogue and model professional behaviour in the workplace

Module 5 (Day 5)

“The leader in creating the culture of service excellence”

The aim of this workshop is for the participants to:
–      showcase and present their achievements and improvements during the program
–      developing strategies in attracting motivated professionals into the Aged Care team
