HAVE A CONFLICT SITUATION TO MANAGE?
What is holding you back from addressing the situation?
- Uncomfortable with conflict
- Fear of confrontation
- Avoiding having to deal with the situation
- Feeling out of your depth
- Emotional behaviours clouding the real issue
- Don’t want to upset anyone
- Losing confidence in your ability
- …or anything else you’d like to add to this list!
The reason I ask “What is holding you back from addressing the situation?” is because the longer you leave it, the worse it feels and the more you’re likely to make assumptions and negatively play out scenarios in your imagination… all of which cause you stress and avoidance instead of resolution through engaging a solution focus.
The effects of not dealing with the situation can be mental, emotional and physical symptoms such as: headaches, nausea, rashes, eczema, panic attacks, and the list goes on.
Where do I begin?
You can begin with “turning the conflict inside out.” This is a process of managing the internal conflict first which will put you in a better state of mind.
How do I address the situation with clarity and confidence?
The next step is to clearly define the specific behaviour, action or inaction you need to address with the person/team. Once you have done this, you’ll be able to relate the situation to the bigger picture and collaborate on a plan of action.
What I’ve put together to assist you are the following options:
Option 1: Double PowerWeek: Managing Conflict & Difficult People and Situations
This is highly recommended if you want to get started right away. PowerWeeks are designed to integrate into your day leading to positive behavioural change that becomes a part of you, ultimately expanding your skills and strategies for life.
Dealing with conflict and difficult people can take up a lot of our time not to mention the physical and emotional toll. In this module you will gain practical tools, skills and strategies to fast track to cognitive versus being emotional with the situation. Learn how to separate the person from the behaviour and get down to the facts of the actual situation at hand. Re-frame the fear and discomfort of “confrontation” to a new understanding, where you can move forward with a plan of action for the best outcomes.
Option 2: Coaching
This is recommended if you want one on one personalized coaching. As your coach I will walk with you in sorting the internal conflict, clearly defining the situation and then the strategies to move forward in addressing the situation with a solution focus for best outcomes.
